A Season Closes and a New One Begins

With festivities that span for more than a month, St. Patrick’s “Day” is actually a season to us! It is with a heavy heart that we close the book on the best time of the year. This 2018 season has been one of the best yet. Hawai’i Irish Dance had a record number of performances at some wonderful venues. We met and shared the holiday with so many new friends. We had the opportunity to perform with some of our favorite bands, including The Kilt Lifters, Celtica Pipes Rock and Switchback. And our own Lynn Scully was honored by the Friends of St. Patrick as Hawai’i’s Irish Person of the Year!

This season could not have happened if we did not have the support and involvement of so many amazing people. We had flaggers and barrel haulers and booth volunteers and crowd dancers and a tremendously talented and committed crew of dancers who all helped make this season happen. Everyone worked so hard to make this season a success and to bring a bit of the Irish spirit wherever they went.

Although we are sad to see the season end we are looking forward to so many exciting things! The month of April has a Dance Workshop and Ceili scheduled for April 21st, and a concert with our friends The Whiskeydicks on April 28th. We are prepping for summer dance performances, please keep an eye on Hawai’i Irish Dance’s website and facebook page for upcoming event announcements. Our Thursday night sessions are bigger and better than ever. If you want to get involved, please reach out for additional information.

We hope to see you all at the Pub soon!
